Uses of Vehicle Exhaust Hose Reels
Compact and Convenient Vehicle Exhaust Removal. Hose reels are the exhaust removal system of choice in many facilities because they offer ready accessibility, while at the same time storing compactly out of the way when not in use. Two types of vehicle exhaust hose reels are available: spring-operated and motorized. Hose reels may be mounted directly on wall or ceiling, on boom arms for a wider reach, or on rails, allowing reels to be accessible to more than one bay, or alternatively to follow the vehicle along a drive-through service bay.
Industrial facilities that can benefit from the use of vehicle exhaust hose reels include auto and truck maintenance centers, repair shops, heavy equipment maintenance, and vehicle testing labs.
Advantages of Vehicle Exhaust Hose Reels
- Direct Source Capture. Connecting exhaust hose directly to the tailpipe allows all the fumes to be exhausted out of the building in order to meet the OSHA permissible exposure limit that is only 50 ppm.
- Compact Storage. When not in use, hoses are stored out of the way, keeping the workspace open and facilitating movement of the vehicles.
- Convenience. Motorized reels make access and operation practical in any shop, including those with extra high ceilings.
